Detachment-hosted Safety Stand Down open to all veterans and members.
The detachment is organizing a cornhole tournament with a goal of 20 teams across 10 boards. Contact a detachment officer to register a team.
Second date: Saturday, October 3
Two-date shooting match. The detachment is finalizing a special events certificate with the NRA to allow use of non-NY compliant firearms.
Young Marines fundraising hump — pledge by the mile. Finishes with a hot dog & hamburger cookout at the ECF Club House; a local ice cream truck will donate proceeds to the Young Marines.
Tickets on sale now to members — $50/person, $90/couple. Sales open to non-members September 3 — $60/person, $100/couple. Cake escorts still needed — contact a ball committee member.

Monthly — First Thursday, 7:00 PM
Open to all members. Agenda and any venue updates shared via Iron Mike and detachment channels in advance.
Annually — Last Monday of May
Detachment participates in local Memorial Day ceremonies. Specific details announced via Iron Mike closer to the date.

Detachment participates in Veterans Day events. Details posted via Iron Mike and Facebook.

Annual E.J. Brewer MCL Scholarship awards ceremony for local applicants. See the Scholarships page for application details.
Annually — Late June
The detachment’s annual golf tournament fundraiser, with team play and hole sponsorships. Next tournament: June 26, 2027.
From The Latest Iron Mike
The next monthly Detachment meeting is Thursday, August 6 at 1140 Sullivan Street, Elmira — MCL Dinner at 6:00 PM, meeting at 7:00 PM. Ball ads go out to members for solicitation at this meeting.

A great turnout at Eldridge Park for the Family Picnic. Scholarships were awarded to Jace-Thomas Barr, Andrew Fedele, and Grace Spaulding, and Janis Lunger was honored with a Quilt of Valor for her work co-founding the Young Marines program.
